Accounting and Operations Administrative Assistant

Job Description:

Minturn Huller Cooperative is seeking an Accounting and Operations Administrative Assistant. This person would assist the Controller with financial operations, and the General Manager with various assignments, to support the Operations side of the association.

Responsibilities & Duties:

- Responsible for complete monthly financial preparations
- Responsible for resources associated with general ledger preparation, financial reporting and year-end audit preparation
- Completes accounting operations, including A/P, A/R and Payroll
- Provides support for budgets and forecasting
- Reviews accounts payable invoices for proper postings in the GL
- Follows documentation/development of procedures and internal controls
- Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Ensures HR Compliance
- Records sales inventory
- Prepares reporting and invoicing
- Provides grower production tracking and reporting, utilizing Almond Logic software
- Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and concepts
- 5 years accounting experience in financial reporting/general ledger, agriculture background preferred
- A minimum 3 years of experience working in SAGE 100
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, concurrently with a sense of urgency
- Advanced in MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be able to work extended hours (12 hours/day, 6 days/week) during the harvest season (August-December)
