Hiring Range







The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is $29.41 - $52.30. The budgeted hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $35.00 - $39.30. Job Closing Date

About the Job







Reporting to the Financial Systems Support Team Lead, the Business Systems Analyst provides assistance with ensuring data integrity, system testing, and troubleshooting functional issues and/or requests. The ability to assist with data-mining, knowledge management and support material development are important functions of this role. System application environments may include PeopleSoft, open source, and custom or purchased software systems that support the needs of the University. This position works on problems that are diverse in scope and assists higher level analysts with moderately complex problems. Serves as an effective, reliable, and trusted resource for process and user support needs that may extend outside the department to other campus partners and constituents. This position requires management of highly sensitive, complex, and confidential information. Key Responsibilities: 1) Operational Systems Reporting: Creates, maintains and ensures quality of data sets, reports and metrics about supported applications. Assists in development of standardized and custom-scope reports for ongoing customer needs. Assists in data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data testing outputs of operational reports. Assists in the review, testing, and implementation of business applications and/or software upgrades or patches. 2) Financial Systems Support: Serves as a liaison with business stakeholders, working with key organizational resources and outsourced development teams as assigned and provides assistance with ongoing Financial Systems Support unit projects as assigned. Provides support for business applications, including researching and resolving problems, unexpected results or process flaws and performing scheduled activities. Through classes, reading, CBTs or other mechanisms, continuously increase business system application knowledge. Participates in user group meetings/conferences as assigned. Recommends systems support and/or application improvements. 3) Security Profile Administration:. Modifies security profiles as directed. Maintains security profile listing for supported applications. Assists in the development of the support framework for the profile administration. Develops and maintains documentation for security profile administration. 4) Other duties as assigned. Qualifications







- Bachelor's degree in related area (required); and/or - 1 year of related experience or 5 years of progressively responsible related experience/training. - Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. - Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem-solving skills. - General knowledge of business applications functions. - Knowledge relating to software design. - Some knowledge of related areas of IT. - Demonstrated testing and test planning skills. (Preferred) - Skills associated with analysis of processes, information flow and architecture. (Preferred) - Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. - Experience in one or more of the following systems: Oracle Financials Cloud, Oracle Enterprise Planning and CloudService, PeopleSoft, Concur. (Preferred) Background Check
