The School of Natural Sciences at University of California, Merced
is seeking one new faculty member at the Full Professor (tenured)
level in Immunology and Infectious Disease. We seek outstanding
scholars who will establish and maintain creative research programs
in immunology, and participate in creating a multi-faculty
specialization in BSL3 level infectious diseases at UC Merced,
including host-pathogen interactions, emerging infectious disease,
and chronic infections caused by viral, fungal, bacterial or
protozoan pathogens. Highest consideration will be given to
candidates with a strong background in cellular and molecular
immunology with research projects that are synergistic with current
Molecular and Cell Biology faculty interests in immune development,
infectious diseases and quantitative biology.
Applicants must have a strong publication record and must have
demonstrated a strong independent, innovative, externally-funded
research program. Applicants must be able to teach effectively at
both undergraduate and graduate levels, and be committed to
diversity, equity and inclusion. We are particularly interested in
candidates with BSL-3 research programs.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Immunology or a closely related field
and significant independent research experience is required.
