Position description
The School of Engineering anticipates hiring full and part-time and
lecturers positions to teach courses in Materials Science &
Engineering for Academic Year 2024-2025.
MSE/CHE 176 - Microelectronics Fabrication
MSE/CHE 162 3D Printing Research and Development

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor is
responsible for creating a syllabus, holding regular posted office
hours (minimum 2 hours/week), and evaluating student work and
exams, and calculating and posting grades. The instructor may also
be required to hold discussion sections or supervise a graduate
student teaching assistant, reader, or remedial tutor.
This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of
the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of
California and the American Federation of Teachers. Terms and
conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and appropriate
collective bargaining agreement. See the following url for

Appointments for AY 2024/2025 and/or Fall 2024 semester are
reviewed in April, and for Spring 2025 semester are reviewed in
October. The posting will remain open through February 2025 to
accommodate upcoming course needs and new applicants.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications
Advanced degree in Material Science & Engineering or related field.
Expertise in materials development for 3D printing or
microelectronics fabrication using the Synopsys fabrication
simulation tool.
Preferred qualifications
Experience teaching at the college or university level are
preferred. A record of excellence in teaching that demonstrates
broad experience working with students of different abilities,
ethnic backgrounds, and educational attainment.
