Description
- Coordinate and participate in the recruiting and hiring of
staff.
- Coordinate completion of and process employment-related
documentation.
- Coordinate payroll and employee benefit programs.
- Relate positively to residents and families to foster a
cooperative work environment.
- Plan, conduct, document, and coordinate Fire/Internal Disasters
and External Mass Casualty Drills.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance.
- Generate enthusiasm and develop cooperative relationships with
employees.
- Utilize information from Licensing and Certification Surveys,
Employee Evaluations, Facility Rounds, and recommendations to
identify educational needs.
- Organize and evaluate In-Service education programs for staff,
including scheduling and record-keeping.
- Ensure staff competency and skill development through ongoing
education.
- Make rounds to observe patient care delivery.
- Coordinate infection control surveillance programs.
- Supervise staff, including disciplinary actions when
necessary.
- Complete all required forms related to In-Service and education
programs.
- Participate in facility surveys and inspections by government
agencies.
- Provide direct resident/patient care, maintaining
confidentiality at all times.
- Assist with overall staff supervision and management.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and possession
of a valid RN or LVN/LPN license.
- BSN preferred.
- At least 1 year of direct patient care experience in a
long-term care facility.
- At least 1 year of experience in planning, implementing, and
evaluating nursing education programs.
- 2 or more years of experience in a long-term care setting
preferred.
Skills and Certifications
- Ability to read and comprehend technical procedures, policies,
and manuals.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts like fractions,
percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Problem-solving and interpretative skills.
- Current RN or LVN/LPN license and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of PCC preferred.
- Maintain all continuing education and licensing
requirements.
Physical and Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, talking,
and hearing.
- Frequent lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching,
or crawling.
- Visual acuity for close, distance, color, and peripheral
vision.
- Work environment typically low to moderate noise levels.
