WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Web Manager (Digital Communication
The Web Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Web
Team. The Web Manager will communicate project progress, resource
needs, project risks and blockers to appropriate stakeholders
including management team. This person will work with all campus
units across the
university to both update and maintain their websites as well as
train others on tools and best-practices on how to maintain and
update their sites themselves along with managing technical
requests. The position will have a broad and thorough understanding
of communications principles,
strategies and tactics, particularly as they relate to the web and
other electronic media, a keen sense of future trends in the field,
strong aesthetic and editorial sensibilities, comprehensive
knowledge of usability and accessibility applications, the ability
to work effectively with writers and web site owners throughout
campus, strong skills in managing projects and people, and proven
skills in leadership and public speaking.
1. Manages the web presence and campus initiatives using the Campus
Drupal CMS. Promotes campus wide excellence in web design by
providing examples, guidelines and recommendations of resources for
campus web developers. University Communications Acts as initial
point of contact for all web-related projects, queries and issues.
Manages web projects, schedules and teams, including permanent
staff and freelancers. Has lead responsibility for all
Communications-based web services. Serves as the primary architect,
planner and coordinator for web development and all matters
concerning Internet technology and communication.
2. Plans and lead webs content management training for technical
and non-technical staff
3. Ensures the content and messaging on the Web aligns with overall
strategic marketing and communications plan for the university
along with maintaining a consistent branding guideline.
Constructively assesses University Communications processes and
works to improve and advance them via Internet and computer
technology. Recommends and adapts new technologies into the
operations University Communications and recommends training as
needed. With the Web Designer, Web Content Specialist and Senior
Web Developer, acts as in-house expert and consultant on all
matters related to the Internet, campus CMS, web design and web
