Radiation TherapistWe are seeking a Radiation Therapist (RTT) to work alongside our dedicated team of health care providers located in our East Bay Area Clinics.Epic Care is a dynamic healthcare organization committed to providing comprehensive, personalized, value-driven healthcare to our patients. Our centers are located throughout the Northern California East Bay Area in convenient and friendly outpatient settings.A strong applicant must be computer savvy, able to multitask, work well under pressure, and have excellent communication skills. Detail oriented, excels in a very busy clinic, independent, strong technical skills, first level critical thinking and problem solving, self-confident, good teamwork skills, and a self-starter.The RTT simulates and delivers radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. They reliably and accurately document treatments delivered, and respectively and compassionately interact with patients.Essential Functions--- Deliver accurate, efficient and reproducible radiation therapy treatments as indicated by prescription. This includes proper use of a linear accelerator, Cyberknife (as assigned), use of beam monitoring equipment, TLDs, use of appropriate treatment devices, and correct chart and port film documentation. Review diagnosis, patient chart, and identification. Complete all quality checklists (QCLs) in a timely fashion. Performance indicators:--- Perform accurate and efficient radiation therapy treatment simulations. This includes proper use of a simulator, fabrication of various treatment devices, including custom blocks and basic dosimetry. Perform photographing and tattooing of patients as required. Performance indicators:--- Recognize and report malfunctioning equipment per SOP. Performance indicators:--- Function as a second level problem solver in areas such as treatment set-ups and techniques, scheduling, machine maintenance, and quality assurance compliance. Performance indicators:--- Communicate and work effectively with physicians and other staff, recognizing the importance of cooperation and contribution to a team effort. Adapt to changing circumstances and multitask. Able to communicate effectively with patients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, making them feel comfortable while helping to ensure a high level of patient satisfaction. This includes patients who are severely ill and incapacitated. Performance indicators:--- Ability to frequently lift, move, and transfer patients (excluding non-ambulatory patients who require special arrangements). Also, must be able to lift and move supplies and equipment.--- Perform patient imaging as ordered to analyze and accurately reproduce patient positioning.--- Willingness to support other sites as needed. Will actively learn more than one machine. Performance indicators:--- Mentors RTT students as required. Demonstrates an ability and willingness to train others.--- Efficient utilization of time and skills. Performance indicators:--- Able to coordinate patient flow from simulation through treatment in an efficient and equitable manner.
