Position Overview:
Serving the greater Stanislaus County with 423 acute care beds, Memorial Medical Center MMCprovides a full continuum of care, including:

• 24-hour emergency care
• inpatient and outpatient surgery
• specialty services in obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, sleep disorders and physical therapy

  The main Operating Room consists of 18 OR Suites including 2 hybrid rooms. The department is staffed 24/7 as a Level II Trauma Center and offers the following service lines:
  • General Surgery
  • Gynecology
  • Urology
  • Orthopedics
  • Robotics (Center of Excellence Certified)
  • Cardio/Thoracic/Vascular
  • Plastics
  • ENT
  • Neuro Surgery/SpinalThe
    Nurse Coordinator functions within the full scope of licensure and will
    implement the nursing process in the provision of direct patient care to
    include the following: assess patient
    and family needs, develop a plan of care based on patient care needs and
    surgical procedure to be performed as well needs of the anesthesiologist and
    the physician/surgeon. Implementation of
    the plan of care is individualized and collaboration occurs with all members of
    the surgical team including the, Department leadership when necessary. Nurse Coordinator is responsible for managing
    and facilitating the activities in the procedural rooms as required on
    weekends. The Nurse Coordinator assures
    that physiological, safety, environmental, psychosocial and learning needs of
    the patient are addressed.
    Qualifications:
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • 
      Current licensure as an RN in the State of California.
    • 
      Minimum of one (1) year recent nursing experience in an Operating Room.
    • 
      Minimum of two (2) years' experience (in an Operating Room with a trauma program) both in circulating and scrubbing roles.
    • 
      Minimum of one (1) year experience managing complex trauma patients across the continuum of care.
    • 
      Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications or obtain within ninety (90) days of hire.
    • 
      Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification upon hire.
      Preferred Qualifications:
      • 
        Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
      • 
        Certified Operating Room RN (CNOR) certification.
      • 
        Current Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) certification or must obtain within one (1) year.
        Skills and Knowledge
        • 
          Basic knowledge of nursing process in assessment of physical, psychosocial, and psychological needs of the patients.
        • 
          Demonstrates basic knowledge of unit specific age criteria for patient populations.
        • 
          Ability to write, read, hear, and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.
