Center.\n\nResponsibilities\n*Position Summary\n\n*\nConsistent
with scope of licensure, parameters of the California Nurse
Practice Act, and Mercy Medical Center Merced (MMCM) policy and
procedure, renders direct and indirect nursing care to assigned
patient populations.\n \n\n* Assesses patients for nursing needs,
establishes and implements a problem oriented plan of nursing care,
and evaluates the effectiveness of care provided.\n\n* Provides
immediate direction to other members of the nursing care team to
assure the appropriate provision of nursing services.\n\n* Patient
age populations served, and the specific competencies that comprise
this job title may vary among nursing units. \n\n
\n\nQualifications\nMinimum Requirements:\n\n* Must possess and
maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license with the state of
California.\n* Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life
Support (BLS) certificate.\n* Must possess and maintain a current
Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certificate or obtain one within six
months of employment.\n* Must possess and maintain a current ACLS
within 6 months of employment.\n* Must be able to take call, float
to other areas, and work on weekends as required.\n* Experience
Category:\n* New Grad RN- Graduated less than 18 months prior to
date of hire from accredited Registered Nursing Program\n*
Registered Nurse - Greater than 1 year recent experience in
Post-Partum or Med-Surg\n* Experienced Registered Nurse - Greater
than one (1) year of recent experience in Labor and Delivery\n\n*
Must possess and maintain a current National Certification
Corporation (NCC) certificate in Electronic Fetal Monitoring.\n*
Staff hired originally into the cost center 638000-Obstetrics Acute
by May 1, 2021 are not required to obtain or maintain electronic
fetal monitoring certification unless they are cross-trained to
740000-Labor and Delivery.\nOR\n\n* Association of Womens Health
Obstetric and neonatal Nurses (AWHONN)-Intermediate Fetal
Monitoring Certification within six months of hire for RNs with
qualifying experience and 18 months for new grads. Due to
department needs, if new grads cannot complete L&D training
within 18 months, they will be provided with an additional
extension. (Once new grad has completed L&D training, they must
complete NCC certification or AWHONN Intermediate EFM course within
3 months). AWHONN Intermediate EFM Certification must be renewed
every 2 years.\n\n* Staff hired after May 1, 2021 must complete
Postpartum and Labor and Delivery cross training within 18 months
from date of hire. \n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n* Bilingual\n
\n\nPay Range\n$54.58 - $71.81 /hour
