Job Description Summary Locally owned funeral home has a
full-time position open for a Funeral Assistant. Funeral Assistants
communicate with families who have lost a loved one and handle all
details for funeral arrangements. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities Submitting obituaries to newspapers Posting to
in-house website Filing death certificates with the State of
California Scheduling services with churches & cemeteries Creation
of memorial books & folders Answering phone calls and emails
Process of insurance claims Assisting with funeral services Help
with light cleaning of the funeral home. Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities Basic knowledge of office technology/equipment (printers,
fax, scanner, copier) Experience with Windows, Microsoft Office
Must be willing to learn several new systems for filing death
certificates and creating funeral memorial items. Ability to
maintain confidentiality of information and records is required.
