About the Job:
The Public Records Act, Conflict of Interest & Legal Services
Coordinator reports to the Director of Records Management and
Information Practices, supporting the Director in connection with a
wide range of compliance matters. The position also supports the
Associate Chancellor in their capacity as the Chief Ethics and
Compliance Officer for the UC Merced campus and the Chief Campus
Counsel with respect to conflict of interest compliance.
Key responsibilities include coordinating, analyzing, processing,
evaluating, and responding to California Public Records Act (CPRA)
and Information Practices Act requests, subpoenas and other
inquiries and requests for information, managing the campus
conflict of interest program (including compliance with Form 700
reporting) and assisting with the review, updating and initial
drafting of campus policies and procedures relating to a wide range
of campus operations. The position will be responsible for
research, review, interpretation and analysis of laws, policies and
technical information. Position frequently interacts with all
levels of management, which often includes senior executive
Bachelor's degree in related area and 3 years experience in related
field with public records experience or work in a legal
Knowledge of records management and public records laws,
regulations, and policies.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and an
ability to interact respectfully with diverse individuals.
Excellent organizational and administrative skills, and a
demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities, accomplish
objectives, and meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion
and sound decision making when handling sensitive documents.
