A hallmark of the Joie de Vivre brand is that every hotel is
deeply and uniquely of its place. For the El Capitan Hotel and
Mainzer Theater, that place is on Main Street Merced, in
California's Central Valley, and within a 90-minute drive of
Yosemite National Park or the San Francisco Bay Area. The locale
and the El Capitan properties are further defined by a history
shaped by the railroad, ranching, and agriculture, and a connection
to Yosemite that dates to a time when Merced was truly the last
stop for provisions before the last leg of the journey into the
El Capitan Hotel features a restaurant serving classic
California dishes inspired by the local bounty and produce of the
Central Valley. The offerings extend throughout this historic
property to a caf bar, garden courtyard and market, where artisan
coffees, crafted cocktails, and lighter fare nourish locals and
Restaurant servers are responsible for submitting guest menu
selections and presenting these food and beverage preferences. The
right person will gain menu knowledge and give recommendations from
our compilation of cuisine and drink offerings. A Hyatt restaurant
server will engage in casual conversation and create the restaurant
experience by their style and service attributes. Other duties
include general restaurant preparation and maintaining a sanitary

+ Ensures that each customer receives outstanding service by
providing a customer-friendly environment which includes greeting
and acknowledging every customer in a positive manner, solid menu
and product knowledge, and all other components of the restaurant's

merchandise promotions, special offers and advertisements.
+ Assists in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and

**Qualifications & Requirements**
+ A warm and outgoing personality with a passion for food and

+ Prior restaurant experience preferred
+ Ability to communicate in English with vendors, guests and
staff, to their understanding.
+ Ability to anticipate and understand guests' needs.
+ Ability to move quickly and safely through workspace.

+ Ability to follow directions thoroughly.
+ Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a
+ Must be able to stand and exert a well-paced mobility for
periods up to four (4) hours in length.
+ Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests
and other employees.
+ Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris
off the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the

pounds up to 15 times a shift.
