Job Description:

The Chief Communications Officer is responsible for oversight of both internal and external communications for the organization. Responsible for development and implementation of communications programs designed to promote organizational mission and strategic plan to employees, while enhance public understanding and view of the organization. Responsible for the oversight of marketing, public relations, government affairs functions including promotion of the organization within the community to promote and maintain a consistent public image. Develops policies and procedures and sets the direction for all areas assigned.Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pmDuties and Responsibilities Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.Continually and consistently communicates the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization, and measures all decisions against these standards.In conjunction with Executive Team, develops communication plans and tools to advise Leadership and staff of goals and in meeting program, operational and strategic targets.Insures that the organization maintains positive relationships with governmental representatives, agencies and congressional offices.Completes analyses and provides recommendations for communicating key organizational priorities, as directed by CEO.Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets.Oversee communication press releases, scripts and editorials.Oversees all marketing plans and programs to promote the organization in the community and expand brand recognition.Organize and coordinate large scale public and staff eventsInterface with the media and public as needed to insure a consistent and professional message consisted with organizational values.Ensures data collected is analyzed and used for maximum impact on improving the services delivered to the patient population and communicating with staff and the public.Other projects and duties as assigned.Min. Qualifications ABILITY TO: Handle confidential information; To work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and manage multiple priorities; demonstrated ability tact and composure in dealing with staff as well as the public. Demonstrated leadership abilities.SKILLS: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong computer skills including good understanding of desktop publishing and presentation software. Must be able to work after hours and on weekends as needed for organizational events. Must hold a valid California Driver's License, have reliable transportation, proof of insurance and acceptable driving history.Physical Demands The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and push up to 100 pounds on a cart with wheels. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.Education/Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, business administration or related field is required; Master's degree preferred.Minimum 5 years' experience at the executive level overseeing communication, marketing and/or public relations.Experience in managing multiple departments and oversight of large events.Governmental relations experience is preferred.Healthcare experience is highly preferred.
