About the Job:
The Academic Resource Coordinator has primary responsibility for
all administrative support tasks related to Instruction and
Curriculum for the School of Natural Sciences. This includes the
following: interpretation of policies and procedures; preparation,
routing, and submission of forms and letters; maintaining file
copies and tracking sheets; responding to questions from and
coordinating with Faculty, Lecturers, students, and other campus
offices; error-checking and implementation of UC, campus, and
School policies and procedures.
- Independently coordinates textbooks, syllabi, course materials/AV
equipment process in advance of the semester working with
instructors and the appropriate campus department.
- Facilitate training sessions for classroom equipment, CatCourses
and classroom response systems with IT as needed.
- Independently administers the very complex process of course
evaluations including end of semester evaluations for the
- Assist Curriculum Manager with scheduling and identifying
solutions to course schedule conflicts, this includes identifying
possible solutions to resource and space constraints.
- Academic Program Support: assist with periodic academic program
activities and initiatives (whether by executing the tasks directly
or coordinating tasks performed by others), which may include:
Maintenance of electronic file systems; Preparation of requests for
low value orders; General communications to undergraduate, Graduate
and Lecturers related to curriculum; Maintenance and updating of
websites and other communication tools; Special events for
Curriculum & Instruction in the School, Graduate Division, Student
Services, or similar
- High School Diploma, General Equivalency Degree (GED), or High
School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) or equivalent, and three (3)
years administrative/clerical work experience, or the equivalent
years of work experience which have led to the development of the
skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful
performance of the duties assigned to the position is required.
- Bachelor's degree, preferred.
- Working knowledge in administrative procedures and processes
including word processing, spreadsheet and database
- Requires verbal and written communication skills, active
listening, critical thinking, multi-task and time management
- Experience with pivot tables in Excel is preferred.
