About the Job:
The Supply Chain Communications Specialist independently oversees
communications for a range of programs within Procurement,
Communications, and Supply Chain with moderately complex
communications requirements. Communications deliverables will
include written, visual, digital and electronic communications as
well as engagement strategies. Works with management to develop and
execute organizational communication and branding strategy for
units within Procurement, Communications & Supply Chain. Designs
and implements, in collaboration with cross-campus partners,
engagement and communications strategies for Supply Chain,
Procurement, and Communications future Supply Chain operations.
The incumbent will work closely with the marketing units and public
relations within the External Relations Division. The incumbent
will also be responsible for understanding any policy and/or legal
implications of unit programs and initiatives in order to design
effective engagement plans and communications materials.
Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting, Communication, Media, Marketing
or related area and three years of progressively directly related
experience, or equivalent experience and training.
Knowledge of all aspects of communications, including strategic
planning for various media venues, technical aspects and
requirements of various venues, and most appropriate and effective
Knowledge and understanding of technical applications to
effectively direct technical staff, or personally perform technical
work, including design concepts, various media, and
Solid skills to create, develop, and implement comprehensive long
and short term strategic communications plans.
Knowledge and skills to advise and consult with management to
ensure delivery of the desired message to the target and / or broad
Solid written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active
listening and political acumen skills.
Knowledge of the organization, its achievements, mission, vision,
goals, policies, practices, infrastructure, and a strong knowledge
of current affairs, and issues in higher education and / or health
sciences is PREFERRED.
Knowledge of location protocols and channels for communication
internally and externally is PREFERRED.
