behavioral health services to the underserved community, is
currently seeking a driven Direct Support Professional to join our
mission to provide compassionate services to those with limited

community in need. Direct Support Professional (396) Los Banos, CA
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are responsible for creating a
safe, positive, and supportive atmosphere for individuals with
intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in Kings View’s
adult day programs, by providing training, encouragement,
education, and feedback. Support may include teaching skills,
implementing positive behavior support plans, assistance with daily
living activities, job coaching, advocating with the individual,
encouraging communication, healthy relationships and
self-expression, and supporting individuals to become integrated in
their community by engaging in the life of the broader community.
All support activities will be in alignment with the individual’s
self-directed and person-centered goals and objectives as outlined
in their Individual Support Plan (ISP). How will I contribute
Respect client rights, independence, and personal choice at all
times. Train individuals in acquiring skills to encourage the
individual’s capacity to live their best life. Support program
participants to self-advocate and communicate their needs, desires,
and goals. Transport clients to and from the program and/or
community outings as scheduled, observing all vehicle operation
safety laws and standards. Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off,
assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle, and provide
necessary supervision during transport. Work closely with clients
to enhance their decision-making skills and encourage social
engagement. Provide education and support to promote physical and
mental health, and positive behavior. Coach and redirect
inappropriate behavior. Empower and equip individuals to complete
tasks independently. Provide supervision and physical assistance,
including assisting with grooming, hygiene, toileting, eating, and
support the individual in communicating other needs they may have.
Drive clients to and from appointments, activities, or other
destinations as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
This includes planning routes, adhering to schedules, assisting
with mobility aids, and maintaining awareness of client needs
during the journey. Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment
by cleaning the work area, immediately informing the Administrator
about any broken/inoperable items, locking up toxic chemicals, and
reporting any problems or unusual occurrences/activities and health
& safety issues that could cause injuries or illness. Participate
in the development of the client’s Individual Support Plan (ISP)
Report special incidents, neglect, exploitation, and suspected
abuse according to applicable laws and regulations to include
completing an incident report and report to the Administrator.
Document daily notes/charting in accordance with Title 17 and Title
22, to report clients’ progress toward their goals. Follow and
operate according to all privacy regulations, maintaining complete
confidentiality of client information. Develop positive
relationships with outside agencies, programs, care providers, and
client family members. Represent and positively promote the program
to the community including funding sources, community agencies,
client families, and other related groups. Implement lesson plans
to deliver educational instruction in alignment with course
curriculums. Attend staff meetings and complete required hours of
continuing education each year to meet the requirements of Titles
17 and Title 22. Perform other duties as assigned to support the
overall functioning and success of the program. What I bring High
School Diploma (or Equivalent) Class C Driving License Required
Adult First Aid and CPR One-year experience professional or
personal experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or
developmental disabilities. Experience providing positive support
to persons with challenging behaviors and/or medical needs
preferred, on the job training may be substituted in lieu of
experience. Knowledge of principles of person-centered thinking,
health, safety, nutrition, and sanitation practices, provision of
client care and supervision, recognition of early signs of illness
and the need for professional assistance and positive behavior
support principles and techniques Ability to interact effectively
with the program team and leadership and work with a diverse
population of peers and clients, including those with behavior and
medical support needs. Organization, time management, critical
thinking, strong written and verbal communication, multi-tasking,
active listening, reading comprehension, problem-solving, teaching,
coordinating, innovating, and strategizing skills and abilities
necessary for service delivery. Positive attitude, strong work
ethic, responsible, self-disciplined, creative, multi-culturally
competent, empathetic, socially perceptive, flexible and adaptable.
Must be at least age 18 and comply with Community Care Licensing
personnel requirements: have a DOJ criminal background clearance,
evidence of good health (verified by physical) and a negative TB
test Ability to perform emergency first aid and CPR as needed.
